Karimnagar: A Class X student died by suicide in Eppalapalli village of Veenavanka mandal, reportedly distressed after his parents declined to buy him a bike.

Police said Chukka Aditya (17), a student of Galipelli Government High School, had returned home on July 18 following an extended holiday. During his stay, he requested his parents to buy him a motorbike. Though they assured him they would arrange one later, Aditya was reportedly upset with their response.

On the night of July 20, he allegedly consumed pesticides in a suicide attempt. His parents rushed him to Karimnagar Government Hospital, where he died during treatment on Tuesday evening.

Following a complaint by Aditya’s father, Sadaiah, police have registered a case and taken up an investigation.
