Hyderabad: Cracking the whip on the errant industries, the Telangana Pollution Control Board (PCB) has issued orders for closure of six industries.

The PCB reviewed 49 industries in its task force meeting in the month of November and passed orders for closure of six industries that were found violating the prescribed norms.

Six industries, as per PCB, were Sri Vengamamba Mining Company in Nalgonda district, TEW Automation Private Limited in Sangareddy district, Sahasra Enviro (P) Ltd in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Ashirwad Metal Industry in Siddipet district, Gajula Umakanth Fabric Dyeing Unit in Rajanna Sircilla and Swarna Plastic in Rangareddy district.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PCB said Sri Vengamamba Mining Company and TEW Automation Pvt Limited were found operating without valid consents of the Board and in non-compliance with consent conditions. Similarly, Swarna Plastic was running without having Board’s valid CFO and revocation of production-stopping order, while Sahasra Enviro was found non-compliant with consent conditions.

The State has a total of 12,264 industries, which are in red, orange, green and white categories based on pollution severity. Between January 2024 and October 2025, the PCB gave nod to establish 2,620 new companies and issued Consent for Operations (CFO) to 3,521 units, after verifying compliance with environmental norms for air and water pollution control.

A staggering 305 industries were shut down by the Board for not adhering to pollution control norms in the State between January 2024 and October 2025. In addition, the Board served notices on 1,234 industrial units for various violations.
