Hyderabad: Jal Shakti Joint Secretary Sanjay Awasthi on Friday said the matter pertaining to setting up of an appropriate tribunal to adjudicate on Krishna basin issues was being processed.
When his attention was drawn to the request of the Telangana government that a tribunal be constituted, he said the Ministry got information from the State government in the second week of June that it had withdrawn a case it had filed in the Supreme Court as requested by the Centre.
“We immediately sought the opinion of the Ministry of Law, which, in turn, asked us for a lot of background material and documents,” he said, adding that the officials are in touch with the Law Ministry daily seeking its opinion and the matter is under process.
