Hyderabad: In a bid to curb drug peddling and substance abuse in the State, the Telangana Police have developed a Drug Offenders Profiling Analysis and Monitoring System (DOPAMS) for profiling Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases. It will be supported by the CCTNS software being used by the State Police.
DOPAMS will enable the police to profile, monitor and analyze all NDPS cases in the State, by helping investigating officers build, update and search profiles of all drug offenders, identify notorious drug peddlers, their operations, hotspots of drug peddling, cultivation and supply and track down drug offenders throughout the State.
The Telangana police have intensified their crackdown on drugs, particularly ganja across the State. Several hundred persons involved in the sale, supply, cultivation and transport of the drug were arrested.
