Hyderabad: With an aim of curbing rowdy activities in the tri-commissionerates of Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad, the Telangana police will make joint efforts to keep a joint vigil on the rowdy elements.
The Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, VC Sajjanar, said that a meeting was held with the officers of all three commissionerates recently to evolve ways to keep a check on the rowdy sheeters.
“We have categorised the rowdy sheeters. The top rowdies in the tri-commissionerates will be jointly monitored. A database about the family, associates, hideout, and properties of the rowdy sheeters is prepared and shared between the officers of the three commissionerates,” said VC Sajjanar.
The Hyderabad police are following a spate of crime incidents involving persons against whom rowdy sheets are maintained at different police stations.
The rowdy sheeters have become a major problem for the Hyderabad police, with incidents of murder and attempted murder reported regularly. However, the Hyderabad CP clarified that the rowdies are not involved in grave cases. “The murders reported are mainly due to property issues, extramarital affairs, and financial disputes,” said the official.
The Hyderabad police have recently conducted counselling for the rowdy sheeters and officials said that a constant watch is being maintained on the rowdy sheeters now and anyone found involved in criminal activities is being dealt with sternly. “We are invoking PD Act against the rowdy sheeters who are disturbing peace,” added VC Sajjanar.
