Hyderabad: With the Energy Department expecting a rise in demand for power in summer, Principal Secretary (Energy) Sandeep Kumar Sultania asked the four power utilities to focus on higher demand for energy in the State and take measures to reduce power interruptions to the possible extent.
Sultania, who held a review meeting on Tuesday, asked the officials to reduce the 33 KV and 11 KV interruptions, so that people do not face problems during summer. In case of any feeder breakdown, the centralised breakdown staff should rush to the spot and rectify the faults and restore normal power supply immediately, he said, adding that there should not be any lapse in extending value added services to all categories of consumers.
Director (Transmission) said the ongoing 400 KV, 220 KV and 132 KV substation augmentation works would be completed before the onset of summer and associated Extra High Voltage line would be laid on top priority.
Sultania also reviewed the stock position of all major and critical equipment and suggested that in addition to central stores of Transco at Hyderabad, another two material stores should be established at other places of State, so as to mobilize the equipment for speedy execution of works and also to save the transportation cost.
