Hyderabad: With the State government delaying release of arrears related to fee reimbursement, the private colleges in Telangana State have decided to intensify their protests.

The managements of the private colleges offering intermediate, degree, engineering, pharmacy B.Ed, nursing, paramedical and PG programmes will soon form a joint action committee to take the protests forward.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the college owners urged the State government to release Rs.1,200 crore out of Rs.6,500 crore, as Dasara gift to the colleges. The managements said that banks have served notices on 90 colleges and were not providing with loans to them.

The college managements accused the government of negligence in releasing the fee reimbursement arrears. They lamented that their representations on the issue to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other ministers went in vain.

Telangana Pharmacy Colleges Association president T Jaipal Reddy, Engineering Colleges Federation convener Nagaiah Chowdary, Degree and PG Colleges Association president Suryanarayana Reddy and BEd Colleges Association president Dr. K Ramdas among others took part in the meeting.
