The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Education has set September 21 as a deadline for clearing Rs.1,800 crore dues for which tokens were issued, failing colleges planned a huge protest with lakhs of students on September 23 and 24.
Private degree and PG colleges across Telangana have announced an indefinite closure starting September 16, citing Rs. 1,800 crore in pending fee reimbursements from the State government. The colleges have also decided to stop collecting examination fees from students and remitting them to universities.
The university has deffered the undergraduate (non-professional) courses of semester II, IV, VI (regular) and I, III, V semesters (backlog) examinations, which were scheduled from April 21

Students from Sree Nidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST), Ghatkesar on Wednesday protested against the management for withholding hall tickets of its BTech final year students due to Congress government's delay in releasing arrears related to fee reimbursement.
The association lamented the fee reimbursement arrears were not released for the last two academic years and stated that higher education has completely been neglected by the Congress government
