Donthula Ganesh, a resident of Kubheer mandal centre, lost control of his two-wheeler, resulting in a fatal fall; daughter sustains grievous injuries

Nirmal: A retired army jawan died on the spot and his daughter sustained injuries after their two-wheeler skidded off a bridge near Degam village in Bhainsa mandal early on Monday.

Police said Donthula Ganesh (43), a resident of Kubheer mandal centre, lost control of the vehicle while riding across the bridge, resulting in a fatal fall. He suffered critical head injuries and died instantly.

His daughter, Nikhila, was seriously injured and shifted to a private hospital in Bhainsa. Her condition is stated to be stable.

Ganesh was heading to Basar railway station to drop his daughter off, as she was returning to Hyderabad where she is pursuing her education.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
