It is informed that Mr. Amit Sanghi, President of the Telangana Rifle Association, successfully advocated for the revision and reduction of Minimum Qualifying Scores (MQS) at all competitive levels during a meeting with the NRAI governing body on May 17, 2025.
This crucial decision is designed to enhance accessibility to the sport, encourage wider participation, and nurture emerging talent throughout the State.
“The Telangana Rifle Association has been instrumental in advocating for improved access to sports weapons. TRA’s efforts have enabled aspiring shooters to directly purchase competition-grade arms from the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), even prior to attaining Renowned Shooter status,” Amit Sanghi said.
“This progressive step eliminates significant barriers for emerging talent, ensuring promising athletes have the necessary tools to train effectively and compete at higher levels,” he said.
Furthermore, Mr. Amit Sanghi has been nominated as the Chairman of E-Sports Shooting by the NRAI. This prestigious appointment acknowledges his leadership and commitment to modernising shooting sports in India. As Chairman, he will be pivotal in shaping the future of E-Sports Shooting, combining traditional marksmanship with cutting-edge digital platforms to attract a younger audience.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce that the National Rifle Association of India will launch the first-ever Shooting Sports League in India, scheduled for November or December 2025. This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide a professional platform for shooters, recognizing and rewarding their talents while promoting shooting as a viable career path based on performance.
Telangana Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, Mr.A.P. Jithender Reddy, Advisor to State Government (Sports), SATG chairman Shiva Sena Reddy will grace the prize distribution function on June 25.
