Hyderabad: Expediting the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme, the Telangana State Scheduled Castes Development Corporation on Tuesday released Rs 250 crore to four mandals in four Assembly constituencies. The funds were deposited in the accounts of the respective District Collectors.
As per directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at the recent District Collectors conference, Rs 100 crore have been released for implementing the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Chinthakani mandal of Madhira Assembly constituency in Khammam district on a saturation mode. Another Rs 50 crore each were released for implementing the scheme in Thirmalagiri mandal of Thungaturthy constituency of Suryapet district, Charagonda mandal of Atchampet and Kalwakurthy constituencies of Nagarkurnool district, and Nizam Sagar mandal of Jukkal constituency in Kamareddy district.
With the election code ending recently, the Chief Minister instructed the district collectors to expedite implementation of the scheme in the four select mandals as well as Huzurabad Assembly constituency on a saturation basis as a pilot project. The scheme will be implemented in a phased manner and extended to at least 100 families each in all the remaining constituencies before March 2022. He gave a free hand to the district collectors for effective implementation of the scheme and suggested them to explore all possible avenues for business and employment opportunities in both government and private sectors to improve the financial condition of the Dalit families. He wanted them to consult the Dalit intellectuals, retired employees and others who were actively involved in SC empowerment.
