Hyderabad: Recalling the remarkable journey of the State spanning a decade under the BRS rule, party president K Chandrashekhar Rao stated that Telangana had witnessed unprecedented growth and development under the party rule.

Addressing the mammoth rally at Elkathurthy, he said Telangana right from its inception as a separate State, through the relentless efforts of leaders and the sacrifices of its people, emerged as a State of progress.

The foundation of Telangana’s success lay in its commitment to rebuilding the State, not merely to wield power but to transform it. Over the last 10 years, the State achieved miraculous milestones, with its per capita income soaring to Rs 3.5 lakh and its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) topping national charts.

Irrigation projects like Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu and Mid-Manair brought irrigation to vast areas. Over 10 lakh acres of area were extended irrigation support in Palamuru region alone. The Kaleshwaram project was completed in just three years, and along with numerous check dams, turned barren lands into fertile fields. Telangana now boasts a paddy production of 3.5 crore tonnes annually, a testament to its agricultural transformation.

As a farmer, knowing the hardships of the peasant community, Rao said his government had championed the cause of agriculture. Initiatives like Rythu Bandhu had provided financial support to farmers, ensuring round-the-clock quality power supply. Despite skepticism, the programme uplifted countless farmers, proving its critics wrong.

Mission Bhagiratha, though not part of the original manifesto, was implemented to provide safe drinking water to every household. The State also ventured into pisciculture and sheep rearing, benefiting over 25 lakh farmers and boosting rural livelihoods.

Telangana’s IT exports reached an impressive Rs 2.5 lakh crore, with the State becoming a hub for innovation and technology. The focus on inclusive growth ensured that the benefits of development reached every corner of the State.

“Telangana not only transformed itself but also set a benchmark for others to follow,” he said.
