Sangareddy: A private school bus driver was caught driving under the influence of alcohol during a special drive conducted in Ameenpur on Wednesday morning.
The Patancheru traffic police, led by Inspector Lalu Nayak, conducted a drunken driving check targeting private school buses in the area.
During the inspection, one driver — identified as Dappu Praveen, who was operating a bus belonging to Darwin Public School — was found to be in an inebriated condition.
He was produced before a local court and sentenced to three days in jail.
Inspector Nayak warned that strict action would be taken against any school bus driver caught driving under the influence of alcohol, stressing the importance of student safety.
