Telangana sees 2,319 Covid cases on Wednesday; 1,275 from GHMC

Hyderabad: The daily surge in new Covid-19 infections in Telangana driven by the Omicron variant has continued with health authorities on Wednesday reporting 2,319 positive cases out of which 1,275 were from areas under GHMC. Two fatalities related to Covid-19 were also reported on Wednesday, which has taken the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,047.
The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Wednesday has risen to 18,339, out of which close to 15,000 active cases are from areas under GHMC.
The Covid infection is also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 234 positive infections in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 173 cases in Rangareddy district on Wednesday.
The authorities on Wednesday conducted 90,021 Covid tests of which results of 11,217 samples were awaited. A total of 474 individuals have recovered with a recovery rate of 96.80 per cent on Wednesday.
So far, a total of 3,03,67,759 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,00,094 have tested positive and 6,77,708 persons have recovered.
