Khammam: At least seven bus passengers were injured, four of them critically, when a private travels bus rammed into a railway bridge and turned sideways near Kotha Lankapally village in Penuballi mandal in the early hours of Monday.

There were nearly 35 passengers in the bus and the seven injured persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital. The ill-fated bus, owned by KVR Travels, was on its way to Hydeabad from Chekkapally town in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh.

The impact was so high that the front axle of the bus got detached and police surmise that high speed could be the reason for the accident.
