Telangana: Singareni job mela evokes good response from unemployed youth

Peddapalli: A mega job mela organised by the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) here on Sunday evoked a good response from unemployed youth.

SCCL, in association with Nobel Educational Empowerment Society, conducted the job mela in Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Godavarikhani, in which about 5,100 unemployed youth attended. Banking, marketing, finance, health care, IT, retail and other companies took part and selected candidates by conducting interviews. A total of 3,029 candidates have been selected for various jobs.


Earlier in the morning, local MLA Makkan Singh Raj Thakur along with government advisor Harkara Venugopal Rao, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balram, directors and others inaugurated the job mela. Speaking on the occasion, the legislator informed that about 100 companies from Hyderabad participated in the mela and selected aspirants for various jobs. Selected candidates were handed over appointment letters.

The SCCL CMD said the first skill development centre was established in Thilaknagar of Godavarikhani and about 100 youth were already provided employment by giving training in different courses. Another 150 youngsters were provided employment by giving training in Volvo operation. Besides employees working in the company, unemployed youth from surrounding areas and affected villages would get employment with the job mela, he opined
