Hyderabad: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) students on clearing the Class X examinations can directly get admission into the society’s junior colleges.

Starting next year, the Society has decided to admit its Class X passed out students into the intermediate first year without holding the entrance examination. This is to ensure that there are no vacancies in the intermediate first year. Currently, students are required to qualify and secure a merit in the entrance test to enroll for admission to the intermediate first year in social welfare residential junior colleges.

Similarl admission procedure will be followed for admissions to Society’s Centres of Excellence, which offer coaching for national level competitive examinations like the JEE, NEET-UG. Earlier, the BC Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society decided to promote its students to the intermediate after passing the Class X examinations.

Meanwhile, the Society issued a tentative schedule for Class V admissions in all residential educational institutions’ societies. A paper notification will be issued on December 18 and online applications will be accepted from December 19 to January 1, 2025. The entrance test will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on February 23. The results of the first list will be declared on March 13.

TGSWREIS Secretary Dr. VS Alagu Varsini said the Society has simplified the registration process with a new web application and applicants need to have just three certificates – income, caste and date-of-birth – for registration.

“Upon entering income and caste numbers in application, candidate’s details are automatically captured, leaving no scope for candidates to make mistakes in the registration form. As the income certificate has one year validity, the certificate issued on or after January 1, 2024 will be accepted and those who got the income certificate prior to this date must get it afresh and keep them ready for registration,” she added.
