Hyderabad: AgHub – Agri Innovation Hub of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University has entered into a MoU with Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) to provide technical backstopping to grassroot entrepreneurs and students in Telangana.
As part of the co-incubation MoU, AgHub and TSIC will help the innovators, entrepreneurs and students from Tier 2, Tier 3 and rural areas of Telangana in understanding and developing innovations in a techno-commercial angle within the agri and allied innovation ecosystem.
IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said that many grassroot innovators and entrepreneurs are in the look-out for support avenues. Dr. V. Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and Chairperson, AgHub pointed that close collaborations and partnering with all ecosystem facilitators would build a strong and enabling ecosystem for aspiring agriprenuers and start-ups. “With initiatives like AgHub, PJTSAU has the potential to be an innovation sandbox, combining the knowledge and expertise in agri, food valuechain links with stakeholders like farmers, innovators and startups, said Rao adding that the varsity’s research and extension wings will validate the ideas.
AgHub Managing Director Dr R Kalpana Sastry said collaborations of AgHub and TSIC will facilitate development of an innovation-driven agri and allied ecosystem and also be a launch-pad for innovators and students in rural Telangana.
TSIC Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Shanta Thoutam, , Government of Telangana said the effort is to leverage resources and connections to nurture and scale agri and food innovations. TSIC Sustainability and Scalability Head Annie Vijaya and TSIC Innovation Fellow Dhruti Kalavapudi were present.
