Hyderabad: Protests rocked the Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University, formerly OU College for Women, here on Thursday over lack of facilities in the varsity

A large number of students squatted at the Vice Chancellor’s chamber located in British Residency on the university campus and raised slogans ‘VC down down’, complaining that the university and hostels lack even basic facilities.

Students lamented that they had been facing serious sanitation issues due to choking of sewerage, leading to uninhabitable conditions in the hostels. Students said repeated representations to the university officials had no positive response, forcing them to stage the protest.
