Telangana students to get 7 day holiday for Sankranthi: Here’s what you need to know

After their brief vacation, students will need to prepare for the Formative Assessment Exams - IV. Schools have been instructed to conduct exams for Class X students by January 29, and for students in Classes I to IX by February 28.

Hyderabad: After a three-day extended holiday for Christmas, school students can now gear up for another short vacation with a five-day holiday for the Sankranthi festival.

The School Education department, as per academic calendar for 2024-25, announced Sankranthi vacation for schools other than Missionary from January 13 to 17 and schools will resume on January 18.

With January 11 and 12 being Second Saturday and Sunday, students will have a seven-day extended holiday for the festival.

After a short vacation, students will have to gear up to appear for the formative assessment exams – IV. Schools have been asked to hold exams for Class X students by January 29 and by February 28 for students of Classes I to IX.

The intermediate students like to have Sankranthi vacation from January 13. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education is yet to announce the vacation dates.
