Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has announced the list of holidays for 2025.

Government offices will have 27 General Holidays, as listed in Annexure-I. These include major festivals like Sankranti, Ugadi, Eid, Christmas, Independence Day, etc.
Offices will also be closed on all Sundays and second Saturdays, except February 8, 2025, which will be a working day instead of January 1.

Employees can also choose up to five Optional Holidays from the 23 festivals listed in Annexure-II. These include occasions like Kanumu, Mahaveer Jayanthi, Varalakshmi Vratham, Rakhi, etc.

To take an optional holiday, employees must apply in advance and get permission from their supervisor.

General Holidays do not automatically apply to factories, public offices, or schools.

Separate instructions will be given for them. The government also said that dates for festivals like Eid and Muharram may change based on the moon. Any changes will be announced through the media.

The complete list of holidays is published in the Telangana State Gazette and shared with all departments.
