Telangana swelters as several districts breach 45 degrees Celsius

Between Wednesday and Thursday (8.30 am), at least 15 different locations in the State registered scorching temperatures ranging form 45.1 degree Celsius and 45.3 degree Celsius

Hyderabad: Telangana State continues to reel under an intense heat wave, with several districts recording average maximum temperature exceeding 45 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. Between Wednesday and Thursday (8.30 am), at least 15 different locations in the State registered scorching temperatures ranging form 45.1 degree Celsius and 45.3 degree Celsius.

The highest maximum temperatures, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data was 45.3 degree Celsius at Malkapur, Nizamabad (district) and Kondur (Nandipet) Nizamabad district, followed by 45.2 degree Celsius at Kammarpally (Nizamabad), Tamsi (Adilabad) and Kubeer (Nirmal district). A maximum temperature of 45.1 degree Celsius was recorded at Butapir (Nirmal), Ramnagar (Adilabad), Mosra (Nizamabad) and Pembi in Nirmal district.


The maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius was recorded at Narsapur (NirmalO), Devulawada (Mancherial), Magidi (Nizamabad), Talamadugu (Adilabad), Bheemini (Mancherial) and Kaddam Peddur in Nirmal district. The worst affected districts due to heat wave where maximum temperatures ranged between 45 and 45.3 degree Celsius included Nizamabad, Nirmal, Adilabad and Mancherial.

In Hyderabad, Jubilee Hills recorded the maximum of 42.5 degree Celsius followed by LB Nagar, where the maximum temperature recorded was 42.2 degree Celsius. The maximum temperatures hovered between 41 degree Celsius to 42,.5 degree Celsius at 30 different locations in Hyderabad.
