Telangana: Temperatures set to rise again after thunderstorms

The significant swings in weather conditions transitioning from intense heat to severe thunderstorms and gusty winds, and then returning to severe heat wave like conditions, are expected to continue for few more days

Hyderabad: The significant swings in weather conditions transitioning from intense heat to severe thunderstorms and gusty winds, and then returning to severe heat wave like conditions, are expected to continue for few more days in several parts of Telangana.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Sunday in its forecast issued a thunderstorms and gusty winds warning at almost all locations for Monday. However, multiple districts will also continue to witness severe dry heat wave like conditions with temperatures hovering between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius thereafter.


The districts where thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds warning has been issued include Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda district.

An orange alert for intense dry heat wave like conditions with temperatures between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius has been issued for Adilabad, Kothagudem, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Khammam, Kumarambheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla and Suryapet between April 27 and May 1.
Interestingly, on May 1, the month known for severe heat wave conditions, the IMD-Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for all districts with maximum temperatures ranging from 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, while there were no major thunderstorm events reported, cloudy conditions brought temperatures significantly down in Hyderabad, bringing much needed respite for general public.
