People in Hyderabad and across multiple districts of Telangana State are likely to experience heavy rains along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds for one more week
Heavy rains and gusty winds lashed Vijayawada, killing two in lightning strikes in Bapatla. Flooded roads, uprooted trees, and crop losses disrupted life. IMD forecasts storms until May 7. Officials are clearing debris and assessing damage
A yellow alert (low intensity) has also been issued for Friday in Hyderabad. “Hyderabad will have partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with lightning and gusty winds,” the forecast said, adding that a similar weather pattern will continue till the weekend.
While Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts might experience thunderstorms and gusty winds at isolated places, there are several other districts that will witness intense heat
Looking ahead, the weather forecast indicates that temperatures will remain between 31 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius over the next 48 hours, along with cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall.
The alert highlighted the potential danger posed by electric wires that may fall to the ground due to gusty winds. TSSPDCL urged individuals not to touch any electric wires that are on the ground.
