Telangana to experience relief from intense heat as temperatures all set to drop

Hyderabad: Ending the prolonged and intense spell of heat, people in Hyderabad and Telangana districts can expect a temporary reprieve with significant temperature drops and rain this week.

According to Monday’s forecast by IMD-Hyderabad, maximum temperatures are expected to drop below 36 degrees Celsius in most of districts in Telangana State from Wednesday and continue till Saturday.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to remain unchanged and dry. However, a gradual temperature drop of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius is forecast across Telangana from Wednesday to Saturday, according to IMD-Hyderabad on Monday.

IMD-Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for several Telangana districts on Wednesday. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in isolated areas of Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, and Rajanna Sircilla districts.”

For Thursday, an orange alert (high intensity) for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds (40-50 kmph) and hailstorms has been issued for Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts of Telangana State.

On the same day (Thursday), a yellow alert of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) has been issued for Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana.

Similar yellow and orange alerts of heavy thunderstorms, hailstorms and gusty winds have been extended for Friday and Saturday by IMD-Hyderabad.
