Hyderabad: The State government on Thursday expressed its willingness to re-conduct the BPharmacy examinations for JNTU-Hyderabad students who could not appear due to the recent closure of private professional colleges.
Representatives of the Federation of Andhra Telangana Health Institutions (FATHI), who met Education Department Secretary A Sridevasena here, submitted a representation requesting the government to hold the exams again, as private professional colleges had observed an indefinite closure from November 3 to 7 over the issue of pending fee reimbursement dues.
Due to the shutdown, thousands of students missed the BPharmacy first year first and second semester exams conducted by JNTU-Hyderabad on November 4 and 6.
Responding to the appeal, Sridevasena spoke to JNTU-Hyderabad officials and instructed them to frame rules and send the proposal to her office. According to FATHI representatives, she assured them that a positive decision would be taken soon.
