Telangana to release pending arrears to dairy farmers after March 18

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday assured that the government would release the funds after March 18 that would benefit about 60,000 dairy farmers in the State.

Hyderabad: The State government is likely to release pending arrears amounting to about Rs 65 crore towards the financial incentive of Rs 4 per litre being provided to dairy farmers in the State. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday assured that the government would release the funds after March 18 that would benefit about 60,000 dairy farmers in the State.

Nalgonda Ranga Reddy Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited (Narmacs) chairman Gutha Jithender Reddy and Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao called on Rama Rao, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy, seeking release of arrears pertaining to the financial incentive given to dairy farmers. They said that for the two financial years of 2019-20 and 2020-21, payment of about Rs 65 crore to dairy farmers was pending including Rs 24 crore for Narmacs, Rs 28 core for Karimnagar Dairy and Rs 13 crore for Mulukanoor Women’s Mutually Aided Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited.


“All the Ministers have responded positively and assured to take up the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Rama Rao assured that the pending arrears will be released after March 18,” Jithender Reddy told mediapersons, and thanked all the Ministers on behalf of the dairy farmers.
