The 10,000 liters capacity chilling center, which has been operated since the last 22 years, was seized on the ground that the center has no permission from TS-iPASS
They protested to demand payment of dues owed to them by VT Dairy, which was acquired by Sangam Dairy through a bank auction. The bank had auctioned the facility to recover the outstanding debts from VT Dairy.
As Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was heading to Srisailam to participate in different programmes, the dairy farmers staged a protest. However, the police took them into preventive custody.
The dairy farmers have been requesting the management of the Vijaya Dairy to release the pending bills since the last three months, but it has been postponing it on one or the other grounds.
In an open letter, Harish Rao stated that during the BRS regime, the dairy bills were cleared once in every 15 days, but the Congress-led State government kept them pending for the last 45 days.
