Telangana to set up MSME parks for women in every constituency: Sridhar Babu
Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu announced the establishment of exclusive MSME parks for women in every Assembly constituency, highlighting the state’s rising female labour force participation rate at 52.7 per cent, above the national average.
Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the Telangana government has decided to establish exclusive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) parks for women in every Assembly constituency.
Speaking at the WE-Enable Graduation Ceremony here on Sunday, the Minister said Telangana’s Female Labour Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) stands at 52.7 per cent, significantly higher than the national average of 45.2 per cent.
Women’s workforce participation in the State has increased sharply from 22 per cent in 2017–18 to 40.3 per cent in 2023–24, he said, crediting WE Hub with playing a pioneering role in nurturing women entrepreneurs and added the proposed WE Hub 2.0 initiative would focus on building globally competitive women-led enterprises.
The event was attended by Olympic badminton player Jwala Gutta, film producer Priyanka Dutt, WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla as well as senior officials.
