Telangana: Tourists come face-to-face with tiger in Nallamala forests in Amrabad
Tourists on a tiger safari spotted the big cat which stopped in its tracks after noticing the safari vehicle in Farhabad of Amrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district
Amrabad: Tiger comes calling to Nallamalla. Tourists on a safari in Nallamala forests were stunned to spot a tiger strolling in Farhabad of AmrabadMandal in Nagarkurnool district on Saturday morning. As the vehicle carrying the tourists was on its way to the viewpoint as part of the tiger safari, they noticed the tiger which stopped in its tracks, according to Mannanur FRO Ravikumar. The driver of the vehicle carrying the tourists immediately stopped, and many of them captured the majestic animal on their phones and cameras. With the sightings of tiger being reported in Nallamalla, Forests authorities cautioned villagers and tourists to be extra careful.
Meanwhile, panic gripped OrriNarsaiahpally village in Nallabellimandal of Warangal district after tiger sightings were reported on Saturday.
According to reports, a woman reportedly saw a tiger in a cornfield and alerted the villagers. A large number of farmers, who were working in the fields, immediately went back to their houses for safety. Forest and police officials reached the village and launched a search operation. However, despite swift action by forest and police officials, the tiger was yet to be located.
On Friday, a team of forest officers detected tiger pug marks in Kondapuram and Rudragudem villages of Nallabellimandal. A farmer from Rudragudem village, who went to the chilli field to spray insecticide in the morning noticed the pug marks and informed the forest officials. Based on the pug marks, it had been identified that a 10-year-old male tiger came towards Rudragudem, the Narsampet Forest Range Officer (FRO) RaviKiran said.
The Forest Department officials said that a tiger had come from Tadwai forests of Mulugu district to Konapuram forests of Kothagudamandal of Mahabubabad district on Friday. The officials installed CCTV cameras at various places to trace the tiger movement from Konapuram forests towards Otai, Rampur and Karnagandi forests. Forest officials believe that the tiger had come to the suburb of Rudragudem, a plain area, in search of a suitable habitat.
