Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday demanded the State government government provide free Covid treatment to all 80 lakh BPL families in the State. He also demanded that the government ease the burden on middle class and poorer sections of the society immediately.
He was addressing the media in a virtual press conference along with CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLC T Jeevan Reddy, and AICC official spokesperson Dasoju Sravan on Thursday.
Alleging that the incompetence of the State and Central governments had led to the current situation across the State and the country as well, he said that while many States have been providing Covid treatment free of cost, Telangana people were deprived of that facility.
He called upon the party leaders and workers to take up relief works for Covid-affected families in hospitals and burial grounds on the occasion of 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Friday.
