Nalgonda: TRS MLC Gutha Sukender Reddy on Tuesday said the people of Telangana will teach a fitting lesson to the BJP in the next elections for the discrimination shown by the Narendra Modi government towards Southern states.

Speaking to the media at his camp office here, Sukender Reddy said the BJP government at the Centre has been showing discrimination towards southern states in the country on all issues. “Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have been in the forefront in controlling population growth, achieving economic growth and improving literacy rate. Unable to stomach the achievements, the Modi government has been intentionally targetting these states,” he said.

The Centre was allocating funds of NREGP and other schemes based on population, which would benefit states of north India. If delimitation of Assembly and Lok Sabha Constituencies taken up by the Centre based on the population, the political domination of Northern states would increase at the Centre. He pointed out that population growth was high in the northern states.

Stating that Centre has conspired to create political instability in Telangana state, he made it clear that religious based polling of votes would not happen in Telangana state as people of the state have strong belief on secularism. The dream of the BJP leaders to get votes in the elections by creating religious rift in the people would remain unfulfilled forever in the state.

Strongly criticizing the leaders of Congress and BJP on the comments made by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for a review of the Constitution, he pointed out that it was BJP government which has brought in 104 amendments to the Constitution so far. Then Prime Minister A B Vajpayee appointed Ventachalaiah Commission in 2019 for review of the Constitution, he said.

The Congress and BJP leaders were intentionally making a hue and cry on the matter to tarnish the image of the State government among Dalits, he said, adding that they resorting to such gimmicks since Dalits were a confident lot now after the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme, he added.

Stating that the BJP leaders were trying to get space in media by mudslinging against the Chief Minister to their political presence, he challenged union tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP state president Bandi Sanjay to ensure fulfillment of 10 promises including Tribal University and national project status to a irrigation project that are provided for in AP Reorganization Act, if they are sincere towards the interests of the state.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy was also present.
