Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha convincing women during a programme in Jogipet of Sangareddy district on Thursday.
Sangareddy: Several women questioned Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha over delay in issuing new ration cards while he was distributing fine rice to ration cardholders in Jogipet town in his constituency on Thursday.
The women accused the government of delaying the issuing of ration cards though they had applied for them long ago during the Praja Palana programme. They further said that their names did not appear in the first list though they were eligible.
The police found it tough to calm down the women. However, the Minister went on to distribute the rice while Collector Valluru Kranthi remained mute spectator. As they continued to raise their voice causing disturbance, the Minister interacted with the women and tried to convince them. He assured them that they would soon get the ration cards.
