Telangana women win silver at Federation Cup Throwball Championship

Led by B Harika, the Telangana women’s team secured the silver medal in the 34th Federation Cup Throwball Championship in Tirupati. Telangana recorded several wins in the league and semifinal before finishing runners-up after losing to Andhra Pradesh in the final

Hyderabad: Telangana women’s team, led by B Harika, secured a silver medal in the 34th Federation Cup Throwball Championship in Tirupati.

In the league phase, Telangana defeated Delhi 15-04, 15-13, then got past Kerala 15-10, 15-4, before scoring a 15-11, 15-12 win against Tamil Nadu. Later, Telangana lost to West Bengal 15-11, 14-16, 13-15.

In the semi-final, Telangana defeated Karnataka 15-13, 15-12, but lost to Andhra Pradesh 9-15, 13-15 in the final.

Telangana’s leading performers were Harika, Deepti and Vaishnavi. The team was coached by Siddeshwar Reddy, Pradeep Reddy and Shiva Kumar Yadav.
