Hyderabad: Officials of Directorate of School Education on Friday clarified that a date for reopening the schools for physical classes was yet not finalised by the State government.
However, the government was keenly watching the Covid-19 situation, both in Telangana and in other States, apart from discussing the commencement of offline classes. The government was also periodically taking reports from the directorate on the status of reopening of schools in other States.
The clarification came in the wake of a few media houses reporting that the Directorate had proposed commencing of physical classes from September 1. “We have not proposed any date for reopening of schools for offline classes. We do not even know which classes will be started, if they have to be. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the government is seeking reports on the schools reopening in other States. We have been giving the same as well. The government is discussing the reopening of the schools, but there has been no date fixed or decision taken yet,” officials clarified.
The State government had temporarily closed all educational institutions for physical classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
