Nagarkurnool: A youngster died, allegedly after consuming spurious toddy, at Kondanagulapally village under Balmoor mandal here in the district.

After consuming the spurious toddy, K Anil collapsed on the ground and died. The incident triggered protests in the village.

Residents have been complaining that toddy was being sold in the village at will without any permission. They also charged that youth were getting addicted to the spurious toddy, according to reports.

In the past also, there were incidents of people losing lives after consuming the spurious toddy. Repeated complaints were lodged with excise officials but they allegedly did not take any action.
