Telangana: Youth dies after consuming sanitizer in Karimnagar

Police said, Shaik Saida, a native of Kandukuru in Prakasam distrit, had migrated to Chakalivanipalli and was working as a constrution labourer. He was known to be addicted to liquor.

Karimnagar: An inebriated youngster who, perhaps, mistook sanitiser to be liquor and consumed it, died in Chakanivanipalli of Ganneruvaram mandal here on Saturday night, police said.

Police said, Shaik Saida, a native of Kandukuru in Prakasam distrit, had migrated to Chakalivanipalli and was working as a constrution labourer. He was known to be addicted to liquor.

Several bottles of sanitiser were found next to his body. Based on a complaint by his employer Kasturi Venkatesham, police registered a case and began investigation into the incident. Body was shifted to Karimnagar district headquarters hospital for postmortem.
