Suryapet: One person died and another received injuries when they came to contact with a live electric wire while tying up a flexi banner near Ranga theatre in Kodad of Suryapet district on Friday. The victim Kandukuri Sunil died on the spot, while Kudumula Venkatesh received serious injuries in the incident.
Venkatesh has been shifted to a hospital at Khammam for better treatment. The youngsters are residents of Banjara colonies in the town.
While tying a flexi banner at Ranga theatre centre, which was venue of Rythu Maha dharna of TRS, the two youth accidentally came into contact with live electric wire, according to the police.
Tension prevailed at Kodad when the relatives of the victims staged dharna on main road, resulting in a traffic jam for more than half an hour. However, they were pacified and sent home.
