Hyderabad: Telangana’s Aashirwad Saxena clinched a bronze medal in the under-16 mass start event in the 25th National road cycling championship being held in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.
The 15-year-old Aashirwad, a tenth class student of St Paul’s High School, gave a good fight to Haryana’s Neeraj, who stood first, and Varad Patil of Maharashtra, before finishing a credible third.
“I am happy with my performance,’’ said a delighted Aashirwad, who is coached by Maxwell Trevor.
