Telugu actor, nine others held for gambling in Hyderabad
Following a tip-off, the police team raided the premises and found the actor and others playing Three Cards, and took them into custody.
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Special Operations Team raided a villa and caught Telugu actor-comedian Krishnudu and nine others on charges of gambling and playing poker in Miyapur here on Friday late night. They were later released on station bail.
Police seized Rs 1.5 lakh and 10 mobile phones from the spot.
Following a tip-off, the police team raided the premises and found the actor and others playing Three Cards, and took them into custody.
“They had come to attend a function at the venue and were playing cards and placing bets. We received information and raided the premises and caught them at the spot,” said an official, adding that they were shifted to the police station, where they were given station bail later.
A case was booked and is being investigated.
Krishnudu gained popularity with his comic roles in films like ‘Em Maya Chesave’ and ‘Oye’ among others.
