Telugu student killed in major road accident in Cyprus

Hyderabad: A Telugu man, who was studying and working as a food delivery executive in Limassol city of Cyprus, was killed in a tragic accident on May 9.
According to local media reports, the traffic accident on a main busy central Limassol avenue, witnessed by dozens of bystanders, saw a heavy collision between two cars, which led to the death of 27-year-old Nalla Naveen, who was passing through the area and was caught up in the immediate aftermath.
Police updates said a 21-year-old youngster was driving his car on Dionysou Street in Limassol, in a southbound direction, when he attempted an illegal right turn at a junction and collided with a car driven by a 25-year-old man. The second driver lost control and hit Naveen’s motorcycle, throwing him onto the road.
Naveen was rushed to the Limassol General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A helmet was found next to his delivery bike, but its yet unclear whether he was wearing it at the time of the accident, reports said.
Both the car drivers tested negative for alcohol and narcotics. The 21-year-old driver was arrested later, the reports added.
Meanwhile, Naveen’s friends have started a gofundme.com campaign to raise funds for his funeral and help his family. In a post on gofundme.com, Naveen’s friend Satish Ch shared the tragic news, stating that Naveen lost his life following a devastating accident while studying in Cyprus.
“Naveen was a kind, compassionate and loving soul, who touched the lives of many. Losing him so unexpectedly has created not only emotional devastation, but also significant financial challenges for his family,” he said, adding that they were raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial service expenses and to support the family.
