New Delhi: In a thrilling low-scoring encounter, Telugu Titans kept their composure in the final quarter to defeat Gujarat Giants 30-25 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium on Sunday. Both teams were evenly matched throughout the game, but the Titans held on in the crucial moments, with Vijay Malik contributing 8 points and Bharat Hooda adding 7 points.

The game began with both sides trading points in an intense contest. Vijay Malik led the Titans’ charge, contributing in both raids and tackles, while Bharat Hooda provided solid support in attack. For Gujarat, Rakesh was in fine form, finding gaps in the Titans’ defence to keep his team in the hunt. Lucky Sharma’s sharp tackles played a key role in halting Telugu’s raiders, ensuring the scores remained level at 6-6 after the first 10 minutes.

As the match progressed, the teams continued to go toe-to-toe. Vijay Malik continued to impress with precise footwork and calmness under pressure, including a crucial do-or-die raid. Manjeet also contributed, finding holes in Gujarat’s defence to add valuable points for the Titans.

For Gujarat, Himanshu Singh and Rakesh were the primary attackers, keeping their team within striking distance. Lucky Sharma and Mohammadreza Shadloui played a vital role in slowing down the Titans’ attack with some key defensive moves. At the 20-minute mark, the scores were tied once again at 11-11.

The game’s intensity remained high, with both sides continuing to execute well-coordinated raids and tackles. Bharat remained pivotal in the Titans’ offence, pulling off crucial raids, including another do-or-die effort. Defender Ankit was also instrumental in slowing down Gujarat’s attacks, executing timely tackles to prevent any significant momentum from the Giants.

With the clock ticking, Gujarat responded with timely raids, with Himanshu Singh maintaining consistency and Lucky Sharma’s defensive awareness containing key Titans players. Substitute Visvanth V added his contribution with a do-or-die raid, keeping Gujarat in the game. By the 30-minute mark, the score was still locked at 17-17.

The turning point came when the Titans’ defence, led by Ajit Pawar and Avi Duhan, executed a brilliant collective effort to inflict an ALL OUT on Gujarat, shifting the momentum in their favour. Bharat continued to shine with another critical do-or-die raid, while Vijay Malik added crucial points in the final minutes to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Despite late resistance from Gujarat, led by Himanshu Singh and Rakesh, the Titans’ disciplined defence held firm and did not allow any significant breakthroughs. In the end, Telugu Titans emerged victorious with a 30-25 scoreline, securing a well-deserved win.
