Hyderabad: After a protracted monsoon that left normal life in disarray, winter has started to bite. The temperatures across the state have begun to drop, and in some districts, it has gone single-digit already, a sign of the season to come.

The maximum temperatures are moving downwards to drop below the 30 degree Celsius mark, while the minimum temperatures, according to the recordings of Telangana Development Planning Society, were recorded well below 10 degree Celsius in at least three districts.

Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recorded the State’s lowest temperature of 8.2 degree Celsius on Wednesday night, closely followed by Rajanna Sircilla (9.1 degree Celsius) and Adilabad (9.5 degree Celsius). The districts of Nirmal, Jagityal, Sangareddy and Kamareddy recordings of night temperatures ranging between 10 degree Celsius to 11 degree Celsius.

The Telangana Development Planning Society forecast for the next few days looks at the possibility of the night temperatures being in the range of 10 degree Celsius to 12 degree Celsius in most districts.

In Greater Hyderabad, the lowest temperature was at Serilingampally at 11.8 degree Celsius, with its surrounding areas of Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru logging in 12.5 degree Celsius. Across other locations in the city, Wednesday night was slightly warmer, with a couple of degrees more being recorded.

The local forecast for Hyderabad and neighbourhood issued by the IMD-Hyderabad suggests a partly cloudy sky with mist/hazy conditions prevailing during the morning hours. The minimum temperatures, the forecast says, are likely to be below normal by 2 degree Celsius to 3 degree Celsius during next two to three days. The day temperatures are expected to stay below the 30 degree Celsius mark.

Highway Forecast:

In its Highway forecast for Telangana, the IMD-Hyderabad has forecast haze along the NH-7 and NH-9. Motorists along the highways in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda could experience haze in the early hours.
