Tension in Adilabad as crowd assaults Sub-Inspector at polling station in Adilabad
Tension gripped Seethagondi village in Gudihathnoor mandal, Adilabad, after a Sub-Inspector was assaulted and police vehicles damaged during a clash at a polling station on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred when police attempted to disperse a crowd citing violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Adilabad: Tension prevailed for a while when a crowd hurled stones and assaulted a Sub-Inspector after a person broke his two legs while jumping over a wall when the police were trying to disperse the crowd at Seethagondi village in Gudihathnoor mandal on Wednesday evening.
Police tried to disperse the crowd at a polling station citing violation of the model code of conduct (MCC). Jakkula Vilas, a resident, broke his two legs when he jumped over a wall. His infuriated son damaged a vehicle belonging to the police department before assaulting a Sub-Inspector who was discharging his duties at the spot.
Vilas’s family members arrived at the spot and then attempted to pelt stones at the police present at the station, resulting in tension. The police personnel dispersed the mob and brought the situation under control.
They said that a case was registered against troublemakers. They clarified that Vilas sustained injuries while fleeing upon noticing police who were enforcing the MCC.
