Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Quthbullapur in the city outskirts after the Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel removed wall posters and flexis put up in connection with the BRS party silver jubilee celebrations.

The local BRS party leaders found the DRF personnel removing the posters in a hurry around midnight and questioned them. The DRF men, however, could not give any convincing reply and said they were acting on the instructions of their higher ups. The request made by the BRS workers not to remove the posters as the program is planned for April 27, fell on deaf ears.

The BRS leaders alleged that the DRF teams were acting in a partisan manner and targeting only the BRS party ahead of their silver jubilee celebrations meeting.

When more BRS party workers started gathering at the spot, the DRF personnel left the spot and, in the melee, rammed into a car at Quthbullapur road.

HYDRAA, Commissioner, A V Ranganath, said that a routine drive to remove all flexis and posters was taken up. “It was unintended. We will look into this and instruct our DRF teams accordingly,” he said.
