TG POLYCET 2026 results announced, 11 students secure first rank

The Telangana government released TG POLYCET 2026 results on Saturday, with 11 students sharing the top rank in the MPC stream. Officials also announced reforms including internships, upgraded polytechnic colleges, revised syllabi and introduction of new technology-focused diploma programmes from 2026-27

Hyderabad: Eleven students shared the first rank in the Telangana Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TG POLYCET) 2026 results released here on Saturday.

Namala Lokesh (Warangal), Banothu Hemanth (Suryapet), Alwiya Shifali (Mancherial), Mohammad Mahaboob Arfaaz Ali (Khammam), Kotla Apoorva (Mahabubnagar), Annam Hari Krishna (Sangareddy), Jangala Avinash Goud (Nalgonda), Chilaka Nanda Vardhan Reddy (Suryapet), Kanduri Aditya Souri (Khammam), Rudroju Sajan (Siddipet) and Dureddy Vanmay Reddy (Nagarkurnool) shared the top rank in the MPC stream.


Similarly, a girl, Kotla Apoorva (Mahabubnagar), and a boy, Rudroju Sajan (Siddipet), shared the top rank in the MBiPC stream.

Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education A Sridevasena and State Board of Technical Education and Training Secretary A Pullaiah released the results, which have been made available on the website https://www.polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in

A total of 98,029 candidates appeared and 81,307 candidates qualified in the MPC stream of POLYCET 2026, recording a pass percentage of 82.94. In the MBiPC stream, 98,029 students appeared and 79,652 were declared qualified, recording a pass percentage of 81.25.

Sridevasena said the department introduced major reforms, including a mandatory six-month internship with a stipend of Rs 9,000 and new programmes such as semiconductor technology, advanced manufacturing technology, real estate valuation, landscape design and multimedia and electronics engineering, from the academic year 2026-27. Diploma course syllabi were revamped by integrating modern technologies such as AI, IoT, Python and Design Thinking.

Further, 59 government polytechnic colleges will be upgraded into Advanced Training Centres with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore. Lecturers will receive training through IIT Hyderabad, and industry experts will help teach specialised subjects under the “Professor of Practice” model, she said.

“Currently, 80 percent of seats in government polytechnic colleges are being filled, and we aim to achieve 100 percent admissions this time. To ensure good placements and internships for students, we will announce an MoU with industries on June 12,” she added.
