Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) on Wednesday warned institutions of stringent disciplinary action if they are found to be withholding hall tickets and preventing students from appearing for examinations on the grounds that tuition fee reimbursement has not yet been received from the State government.
In a statement, TGCHE Secretary Dr Sriram Venkatesh directed institutions to ensure that no student is denied the opportunity to appear for examinations on the pretext of fee reimbursement. “Any institution found indulging in such practices will face stringent disciplinary action as per applicable rules and regulations,” he said.
Further, Dr Venkatesh cautioned students and parents to exercise due diligence before seeking admission to any institution. He said admissions secured in unauthorised institutions will be entirely at the risk and responsibility of the students and parents concerned.
Students and parents have been advised not to be misled by false advertisements, exaggerated claims or unauthorised assurances made by such institutions.
“Institutions found admitting students without due authorisation will be liable for stringent legal and disciplinary action as per the rules in force,” he said.
