TGPWU offers free transport for drunken revelers on New Year’s Eve

The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union has announced free transportation services in Hyderabad to prevent drunk driving during New Year celebrations. Around 500 vehicles, including cabs and auto-rickshaws, will operate across the city from late night till early morning

Hyderabad: The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) has announced free transportation services for people who consume alcohol during New Year celebrations.

The service will be available from 11 pm on December 31, 2025 to 1 am on January 1, 2026.

As part of the initiative, about 500 vehicles, including cabs, auto-rickshaws and electric bikes, have been deployed. The free rides will operate at various locations across the city.
