Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited has launched a consumer outreach initiative titled ‘Currentolla Praja Baata’ across its operational districts of erstwhile Nalgonda, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Under the initiative, all officials and staff, including the Chairman and Managing Director and field artisans, will visit consumers every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They will inspect the power network and interact directly with consumers to collect feedback and address complaints.
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui said about 9,500 employees, including Directors, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Divisional Engineers, Assistant Divisional Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Line Inspectors and Linemen, were taking part in the programme.
Officials will interact with consumers, gather suggestions and prioritise resolution of grievances registered under Praja Baata. They will also inspect thousands of kilometres of LT, 11 kV and 33 kV lines, distribution transformers, AB switches and other electrical equipment to ensure issues are rectified on the spot.
Faruqui said the initiative would improve the quality and reliability of power supply, reduce consumer complaints, strengthen the network and minimise power losses across the organisation.
The programme was inaugurated on Wednesday at Parigi by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu at a public meeting, officials said.
