TGSPDCL records highest power demand of 9910 MW on Friday
According to officials, last year's peak demand was recorded at 9862 MW on September 20. This week's average power demand stood at 9317 MW, compared to 9138 MW last year.

Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) witnessed an all-time high power demand of 9910 MW at 10:35 am on Friday.
According to officials, last year’s peak demand was recorded at 9862 MW on September 20. This week’s average power demand stood at 9317 MW, compared to 9138 MW last year. The average consumption increased to 190.29 million units from 182.11 million units, the officials added.
Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Ali Faruqui stated that the demand might exceed 10,000 MW this season and assured that there was sufficient power supply to meet the growing demand.
Heavy rains, increased water availability and quality power supply have led to a surge in agricultural demand this season, the officials said.
